Your comfort note

Nothing picked yet. You can also just write “I’m nervous” and leave the rest to the conversation.

These are requests you can make. Ask the clinic about anything else that worries you.

Your first visit, step by step

Knowing what comes next takes away a lot of the fear. A first visit usually goes like this.

A young woman sits in a dental chair, waiting calmly, with the dental team in the background
  1. Talk first

Sit down and tell the doctor what worries you and what has been bothering you. You can ask to talk before anything starts.

  2. A gentle look

A small mirror and a light to see your teeth and gums. Sometimes an X-ray, a quick photo of the inside of the tooth.

  3. A plan in plain words

What needs doing now, what can wait, and the choices you have. Ask as many questions as you like.

  4. You decide

Treatment starts when you are ready. You can also go home, think it over and come back another day.

Treatments, and how they feel

What each one is in everyday words, and what you will actually feel. Tap “Ask about this” to start a booking.

  • A dentist in a white coat looks at a man's teeth in the dental chair

    Check-up and cleaning

A look at every tooth and the gums, then cleaning off tartar, the hard yellow layer a toothbrush can’t remove.

How it feels Scraping and a buzzing water spray. Not painful for most people; say so if your teeth feel sensitive.

  • A dentist shines a small blue light on a patient's tooth to harden a filling

    Filling a cavity

A cavity is a small hole made by decay. It is cleaned out and filled with a tooth-coloured paste that a blue light hardens.

How it feels Usually numbed first. You feel pressure and vibration, not pain.

  • A dentist holds a model of a tooth cut open to show the nerve inside

    Root canal

When the soft centre of a tooth (the nerve) is infected, it is cleaned out and sealed, so you keep the tooth instead of losing it.

How it feels Done with the tooth numbed; many people say it feels like a long filling. It may take more than one visit.

  • Fingers holding a single tooth

    Removing a tooth

When a tooth is too broken to save, or a back wisdom tooth is pushing against the others and hurting.

How it feels The area is numbed first. You feel pushing, not sharp pain. Rest and soft food for a day or two after.

  • Plaster models of teeth used to make a crown

    Crowns and bridges

A crown is a cap over a weak or broken tooth. A bridge is a false tooth held in place by the teeth on either side of a gap.

How it feels The tooth is shaped and measured at one visit, and the cap is fitted at a later one.

  • A dentist shows a set of false teeth to an older patient

    Dentures

Removable false teeth that replace several missing teeth or a full set, so you can chew and smile again.

How it feels Measured over a few visits. They feel strange at first and most people settle in within a few weeks.

  • A model showing a dental implant: a small screw in the jaw with a tooth on top

    Implants (a fixed new tooth)

A small metal post placed in the jawbone works like a tooth root. A new tooth is fixed on top and does not come out.

How it feels Placed with the area numbed. The bone heals for some weeks before the new tooth goes on.

  • Close-up of a smiling mouth with metal braces on the teeth

    Braces and aligners

Slowly straighten crooked or gapped teeth. Braces are small brackets joined by a wire; aligners are clear trays you can take out.

How it feels A tight, sore feeling for a few days after each change, then it settles.

  • A dentist holds a tooth colour guide up to a smiling patient's teeth

    Teeth whitening

Lightens stains from tea, coffee, paan or tobacco. Your shade is checked against a colour guide before and after.

How it feels Painless. Some people notice short-lived sensitivity to cold.

Questions nervous patients ask

If yours isn’t here, ask it on WhatsApp. No question is silly.

I haven’t been to a dentist in years. Will I be told off?

Many people put it off for years, often because of fear. Saying so at the start helps the doctor go slowly and explain more. You only need to tell what is bothering you now.

Will it hurt?

Most treatments that could hurt are done after numbing the area, so you feel pressure rather than pain. If you feel anything sharp, raise your hand. Several Google reviewers describe their treatment here as painless.

Can I come just to talk, without any treatment?

Yes, you can ask for a check-up and a plan only, and decide about treatment later. Call or WhatsApp 98265 65844 to arrange it.

What if I panic in the chair?

Agree a stop signal before anything starts, like raising your hand. Pick “Raise a hand to stop” and “Short breaks” in the comfort menu so the clinic knows in advance.

Can someone come with me?

Pick “Bring someone along” in your comfort note, and mention who is coming. A familiar face nearby helps many people.

I’m scared of injections. Is there another way?

Ask for a numbing gel first. It is put on the gum so the injection is felt much less. Tell the doctor about the fear; it changes how they go about it.

How much will it cost?

Fees are not listed on this website. The cost depends on what you need, so ask the clinic after your check-up, before anything starts.

Is the clinic open on Sunday?

Google lists Sunday 10 am to 2 pm. Monday to Saturday it is 10 am to 2 pm and 5 to 9 pm. Call before a holiday.
